My research focuses on understanding and exploiting biological machinery at the system level. At the interface of systems biology and engineering, this platform encompasses experimental and modeling tools for gene expression, protein production, and metabolic state analyses. My overall goal is to elucidate fundamental biological control mechanisms for design of robust and customizable biological systems, cellular and artificial, which exploit unique and versatile features of microorganisms.
This presentation highlights the development and utilization of quantitative strategies for exploring and capitalizing on biocatalytic ensembles and cellular metabolic capabilities.
