Multiphase Mixing II: Solid-Liquid & Liquid-Liquid Mixing

Co-chair(s)

Armenante, P. M., New Jersey Institute of Technology

Solid-liquid and liquid-liquid mixing systems offer unique challenges in commercial applications. Solid-liquid stirred vessels are frequently the largest tanks for agitator application, while liquid-liquid systems are critical for a variety of industrial processes and products. This session is open to papers in the fields of solid-liquid and liquid-liquid mixing. Topics include, but are not limited to, solids suspension, dispersion, mass transfer, agitator design, and experimental techniques. This session also invites contributions in the fundamentals of breakup and coalescence processes, as well as a variety of phenomena in static or dynamically mixed agitated liquid-liquid systems. Contributions are sought on novel work, with particular emphasis on new industrial applications.
