Separation technologies provide some of the most effective tools for sustainability. The session is intended to cover fundamentals, developments, applications, recent trends, and future opportunities for separation science and engineering in enhancing sustainability of the process industries as well as the development of new device and materials. In particular, papers are solicited in the following areas: 1) Fundamentals and applications of separation for process sustainability 2) Developments and applications of separation materials and devices for future applications of energy saving, material recovery for sustainability (e.g., separation of carbon dioxide, hydrogen, etc.), or bio separations. 3) Emerging technologies for environmental and in-plant separation 4) Synthesis, design, operation, and control of separation networks 5) Techno-economic assessment of separation technologies
