Educational Software Demonstrations
Monday, November 5, 2007 - 8:30am to 11:00am
This presentation will demonstrate the use of COMSOL Multiphysics software for performing finite element analysis for problems in momentum, heat, and mass transport. The problems can be solved by undergraduate chemical engineers in the transport phenomena sequence. The problems presented here have applications to fuel cells.
Introducing new software into the curriculum can sometimes be difficult for students. We advocate the use of a handout with step-by-step instructions for the students to follow. After completion of this problem, the students are then asked to solve a more complicated problem on their own.
