Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) simulations have recently attracted increased interest due to its potential to simulate the dynamics of colloidal particles at mesoscopic time and length scales. In this work, we explore the validity of DPD as a tool to describe the dynamics of suspended particles in microfluidic devices. First, we test the transport parameters of a suspended sphere, such as the drag force and diffusion coefficient in bulk. Then, we measure the hydrodynamic interactions between a particle and two parallel planes, for both perpendicular and parallel motion. Here, we compare the numerical results with continuum solutions and discuss the choice of parameters for the DPD simulations.
