(378b) Solid and Hazardous Waste Update

This presentation will provide a summary of all recent material developments applicable to generation, management and disposal of solid and hazardous waste under the Solid Waste Disposal Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery ActClean Water Act, respectively, and interpreting case law most critical to attendees. Specifically, the presenter will summarize the most recent regulation and court cases impacting solid and hazardous waste management, including revisions of the uniform hazardous waste manifst, new requirements for managing electronic waste, highlights of the "Burden Reduction Rule," new alternative generator standards for academic laboratories, EPA's proposed redefinition of "solid waste" to encourage recycling, and finally, "flow control" ordinances impacting solid waste disposal options.
