Sustainability and Sustainable Engineering are new disciplines of study that are multi-disciplinary in scope and nature. The concepts and practices of this discipline are evolving as they are being adopted in industries and education institutions. The wide ranging applications of sustainability has become very important in industries and engineering profession. We conducted a project for researching and unraveling the current state of integration of sustainability in engineering education at the colleges and universities across U.S.A. First, we conducted a comprehensive literature review and then focused on identifying and defining several key indicators that are being used in characterizing and defining the scope of this new field of study. Then we developed a survey tool to gather data from over 30 colleges and universities in U.S.A. We collected, processed, and analyzed a vast amount of data. This paper will discuss and present the results and conclusions of this study.
