Interfacial Phenomena in Environmental and Alternative Energy Systems

Chair(s)

Willing, G. A., University of Louisville

Co-chair(s)

Cheung, H. M., University of Akron

This session will deal with all aspects of interfacial phenomena that have applications in natural/engineered environmental systems and renewable energy systems. Examples of possible topics include: adsorption/desorption in gas/solid and solid/liquid systems, electron transfer across the liquid/solid interface of a dye-sensitized solar cell, the adsorption/desorption of hydrogen from a metal-organic frame work, adsorption of enzymes and hydrolysis of cellulosic fiber materials, colloidal stability and aggregation of aquatic particles, transport and distribution in liquid/liquid systems, transformations of pollutants at interfaces, and transformation of interfaces due to the presence of pollutants.
