Emerging contaminants are chemical and microbial constituents that have not been considered to be contaminants in the past. However, these materials are building up to sufficient levels such that they may pose a threat to human health and the environment. The focus of this session is to discuss the extent of the problem, as well as to explore how new and existing separation technologies can be applied for the removal emerging contaminants from water.
