In this research, direct numerical solutions of solitary wave problems already shown in the 2007 annual meeting are carried out by the Fourier spectral method. The two evolution equations describing electrohydrodynamic surface waves on a falling film were derived by integral boundary layer approach. These solutions are used to 1) show the processes of the formation of the solitary waves from a slight disturbance; 2) verify the linear stability theory shown in the last presentation; 3) compare the results by the energy integral method and the momentum integral method; 4) compare with the results by the lubrication theory.
