(200c) High-Gravity Process Intensification Technology and Commercial Applications

High-gravity technology is carried out in a rotating packed bed (RPB) and regarded as one of the important technologies for process intensification. The Research Center of the Ministry of Education for High Gravity Engineering and Technology in China has focused on the research of high-gravity technology for nearly two decades and made great progress in the application of this technology to process intensification. This proposal presents the application of high-gravity technology for the production of butyl rubber, petroleum sulfonate and overbased lubricating oil detergent with petroleum calcium sulfonate. The intensification of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) production by high-gravity technology is also demonstrated.
