(237e) Energy Applications: Impact of Data and Models

Authors

Creek, J. - Presenter, Chevron Petroleum Technology Corporation

Energy Applications refers to the wide application of equations of state upstream in the Production of Oil and Gas.  Equations relating volume to pressure, temperature and composition help in designing reservoir processes and facilities from the first discovery through the production of an asset to completion.  This includes validation and application of experimental data and the development of flluid models and specific property correlations. This talk describes the successes and short comings of such equations as presently used and the needs in this area for the future of the oil and gas business.
