(415a) Cyberinfrastructure (CI) Funding In the Engineering Directorate (ENG) of the National Science Foundation (NSF)

Pursuant to the Atkins report and numerous subsequent workshops, CI has become a major focus of recent initiatives at NSF. This has included funding opportunities in high performance computing, data storage, sharing and management, and the application and uses of CI to all domains in science in engineering. The engineering community has had, and will continue to have in the near future, many opportunities to participate in these funding opportunities. Past successes and failures, future programs, and the funding outlook for research and education in 2009 will be presented.
