The purpose of this study is to assess the current number of chemical engineers graduating and the demand for chemical engineers by industries in various nations throughout the world. The statistics and information were obtained from international institutions, government agencies, engineering societies, and recent journal articles. The results are sorted into five major areas: North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Mid-East, and Europe. Results include number of undergraduate and graduate students completing BS and PhD degrees; plus descriptions of typical curriculum. Recent additions to curriculum are also described for example, sustainable process design. Estimates are available for chemical engineers needed by various geographic areas and industries. The study indicates imbalances between supply and demand of chemical engineers; the flow of chemical engineers from one nation to another is affected by political constraints.
