The work purpose is rigging laboratory-scale reactor with distributed control system and develop Internet application software for distance regulation and distance student fieldwork.
Laboratory unit consists of three-dimensional fluidized bed reactor and two-dimensional (flat) reactor. In reactors occurs only air or gas flow through fluidized catalyst bed without chemical reaction, therefore it is possible to modeling different type of chemical reaction. Chemical reaction simulated by computer model based on general chemical law of mass action with diffusion between phases and real-time hydrodynamic bed condition, which evaluated by measuring parameters of gas velocity, pressure fluctuations and bed height. The aim of two-dimensional reactor is researching hydrodynamic conditions by photo measurements dispersion and size of bubbles.
All measurements connected with computer model through TOSHIBA control system. Computer model developed in Java programming language and connected with Internet.
Student fieldworks organized through Internet Explorer interface, which consist of control panel web page and data trendline page. There are several type of practice, which able to develop on this laboratory unit, based on different chemical reaction, catalyst volume and process parameters.
