Recent studies have indicated that the wall slip behavior of polymeric melts and polymer based suspensions are affected by pressure with the slip velocity increasing with decreasing pressure in the die and processor [Tang and Kalyon, J. Rheology, 2008]. The ramifications of the pressure dependence of wall slip will be elucidated in conjunction with flow of energetic suspensions through dies and their processing in single and twin screw extruders.
