Radial and axial ozone concentration profiles in a CFB riser (3? i.d., 10.2 m in height) and two downers (2? i.d. and 3? i.d., 5.0 m in height) were measured. Experiments were conducted under different solids circulation rates and gas superficial velocities, using fresh FCC particles impregnated with iron oxide as the solid phase and catalyst for ozone decomposition. Results show that the acceleration region gives significant contribution to the overall conversion. Also, conversions from the experiments were compared with numerical predictions.
