(400a) U.S. Climate Change Legislation Update

This is the first of four presentations in this comprehensive climate change legislation, regulation and policy session. With this first presentation, the author will summarize the current status of climate change legislation, including greenhouse gas emission caps, trading mechanisms, emphasis on energy efficiency and renewables and other significant elements of the latest draft legislation and all competing drafts, or any newly enacted legislation. This author will also provide a foundation for following presentations regarding greenhouse gas emission reporting and the Clean Air Act's regulation of greenhouse gas emissions. This moderated discussion will be helpful for those interested in identifying opportunities for research as well as those needing to prepare for regulatory implementation.
