ATK Energetic Systems (AES) has invested in personnel and facilities to become a proficient energetics and propellant development, scale-up, and production facility. AES provides a wide array of products to both government and commercial customers and monitors single-point failure materials critical to US defense. To increase scale-up capability and flexibility for production of specialty chemicals, AES recently installed a pilot plant to complement its R&D chemical synthesis laboratory and Flexible Energetics Facility. The pilot plant is fully functional and rated for hazardous operations with a variety of reaction vessels and support equipment. In these facilities AES will perform chemistry that most production facilities prefer not to undertake to synthesize both energetic and non-energetic products. AES' cohesive staff and management have the infrastructure support and experience to provide quick turnaround on scale-up projects.
