(97b) Teacher, Mentor, Leader and Friend

For almost 40 years I have had the good fortune to know and benefit from my associations with Jim Wei. For me and many others he has been a teacher, mentor, leader and friend. In his many faceted career from industrial researcher to academic dean, Jim has always had the ability to ask the right questions and then to lead and strongly support those charged with finding the answers. He has been at the forefront of many of the important issues in our profession and in engineering education. I will briefly discuss Jim's career and some of his impacts on our profession.
