Monday, November 9, 2009 - 12:30pm to 3:00pm
All successful engineers have to effectively manage their projects and relationships with the people they work with. Many engineers move, or want to move, into formal management roles. To be a good manager an engineer needs to learn and practice new skills that go beyond those usually defined as "engineering." This session will focus on the additional skills and traits engineers need to develop to be successful managers. It will also address what engineers interested in managment can do to assess their readiness and demonstrate their ability to become successful managers.
