ABSTRACT The following paper proposes a multi-criteria evaluation model to inform the selection of best management practices for stormwater drainage in the context of slums in the Global South. The analysis will begin with a review of multi-criteria evaluation as applied in the selection of stormwater management alternatives in the Global South, as well as its use in the fields of general international development, and stormwater management in urban areas of advanced economies. This will be followed with a description of all relevant criteria to be used in the evaluation, with descriptions of the various measurements proposed for each criterion, and a proposed method for selecting participants, and description of the weighting strategy. Finally, for the purpose of illustration, the evaluation will be applied to a real-world problem.
