Alkaline pretreatment was applied to several lignocellulosic agricultural wastes such as palm oil residue, sugarcane bagasse, sugarcane leaves, and wax palm seeds-peel, at pretreatment conditions based on full factorial and D-optimal experimental design. The resulting lignin and carbohydrates pertreatment yields are reported with the corresponding enzymatic yields and overall (combined pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolisis) yields. On the basis of overall yields, recommended pretreatment conditions for each biomass are obtained.
