This presentation describes an integrated modeling approach to study whether urban agriculture can provide an alternate, more sustainable food system regime to conventional agriculture. An agent-based modeling (ABM) framework is utilized to study future evolution of urban agricultural patterns through modeling stake holder behavior. Various future scenarios are generated based on policy alternatives and these scenarios are evaluated using metrics to assess sustainability.
