Coal gasification has been proved to be an efficient friendly environmental coal utilization technology. In order to study coal gasification process in an entrained flow coal gasifier, instantaneous coal gasification flames were realized with One Dimensional Turbulence(ODT) model. Instantaneous Particle-eddy interactions were modeled so that movements of coal particles were predicted. At the same time, a serial of chemical/physical changes of coal particles were simulated in the coal gasification flames. Coal devolatilization zone and char-gasification zone were shown by instantaneous and averaged coal gasification flames. The analysis of single particle gasification process shoes that coal particle size plays an important role on coal gasification process. Under the effects of turbulent mixing process, particles concentrate at the edge of the jet at first and then merge at the centerline of the jet. Although the averaged particle concentration shows that coal particles disperse in a Gaussian distribution, the coal particles will instantaneously concentrates randomly along the coal gasification flames.
