Acetalted dextran nanoparticles have been investigated for their use in various biomedical applications, specifically for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis or celiac disease. The nanoparticulate materials would be involved in an immunotherapy application by inducing and/or enhancing an immune response in the body to help treat the disease. In addition to autoimmune diseases, these materials are being investigated for their ability to treat cancer via immune response mechanisms. The potential for using these materials in this applications will be outline in the poster.
