The aim of this work was to prepare a support from de acidic activation with HNO3 6N of mineral and vegetal carbon, a first lot of supports were impregnated with a 0.3% wt of Pt and a second lot with 0.3% wt Pt-Re. The acidic characterization was done by potentiometric titration with n buthilamine and the dehydration of 2 propanol, finally the catalytic activity was evaluated by the n- pentane isomerization.
The addition of Re acts as a mild agent of acidity, all this because after its presence, the potentiometric titration with n butilamine went down by the impregnation with Pt, but it changed when them are added together, the acidity became better. The dehydration of 2-propanol had shown the existence of acidic sites for all the materials because the selectivity of the reaction as it was favoured to the propilene formation, however it was obtained diisopropil ether, it represents an achivement, it migth increase the octane number of gasoline. The low percentage conversion of isopentane can be attributable to the differential reactor used.
