Advances in Metabolic Engineering and Bioinformatics II - Computational

Chair(s)

Reed, J. L., University of Wisconsin-Madison

Co-chair(s)

Koffas, M. A. G., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

This session focuses on computational and in silico advances in metabolic engineering. Approaches for designing, understanding and analyzing metabolic and regulatory pathways will be emphasized as tools for providing insights for metabolic engineering of cells and organisms. This session differs from other metabolic engineering sessions, as it places greater emphasis on computational approaches for designing components, pathways, data integration and analysis. Examples include, but are not limited to, development of models (eg. genome-scale or kinetic), advances in metabolic flux analysis (including isotope label-based approaches), deduction of gene regulatory networks, bioinformatics, and methodologies to integrate and analyze ’omics datasets.
