(15a) An Introductory Course Planning In Chemical Engineering

The content of chemical engineering major has been changed in response to the growth of industry, emerging new technologies and demands on personal skills and competencies. Today the difference between offering programs is not significant due to standardized accreditation and international expectations. However development of freshman course is still unsolved problem in the many countries. In this study several strategies for planning the first year courses in eighteen institutions across the world is analyzed. The study then suggests an introductory course based on ethics, sustainability, rich history and simple principles of chemical engineering. The goal of such as this course is to pique the interest in students looking current trend across the world with an emphasis on ethics.
