Woods, D. R. - Presenter, McMaster University

In the McMaster Problem Solving program we have developed a workshop to develop critical thinking skills.  The elements include three basic components, a 10-step process, separating facts from opinions and the use of diagramming.  A brief description with interactive illustrations of the workshop will be given.  This workshop has been given to undergraduates, professionals in nursing and engineering and to process trouble shooters.   For graduate students my approach is an individualized mentoring approach whereby the students and I critique refereed papers in our research area. The guidelines used in this approach will be given.
