A novel method for measurement of crystal growth rate is proposed. This method allows obtaining the growth rate of crystals in a superior manner to existing method in following aspects: no necessity of special equipment, less time-consuming, and robustness on morphology of crystals. In this method, a nucleation point under a constant cooling rate was measured while the amount of seed changed. In order to estimate the growth kinetic parameters for crystal, experiments were performed with potash alum in water system. The estimated kinetic parameters could match the experimental data with tolerable errors. The proposed method in this study can be an alternative for measurement of crystal growth rate.
