Tryp-PIMs are a new and interesting type of porous material. They are a member of the so called polymers of intrinsic microporosity, that have a fairly rigid backbone and contorted sites that give rise to the microporosity. In particular, Tryp-PIM is a network forming polymer that is expected to have a sheet-like structure. This material has some properties that resemble activated carbons and others that resemble typical porous polymers. In this work we present an initial characterisation and properties of Tryp-PIM.
