(533b) The Teaching of the Material and Energy Balances Course

The authors will present the results of the third survey in the resumption of the Chemical Engineering Education Project Committee series of annual surveys on how chemical engineering courses are taught. The survey is now conducted by the AIChE Education Division. This year’s survey focuses on the material and energy balance course or sequence and will detail when and how material and energy balances are introduced to students, what specific topics are taught, in what environment they are taught, and how they are assessed. Teaching methods and novel approaches are focus elements of this survey.
