Environmental Aspects, Applications, and Implications of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology
Oral
212 A
Minneapolis Convention Center
Wednesday, October 19, 2011 - 8:30am to 11:00am
The goal of this session is to identify and present research or general information pertaining to life cycle studies of nanomaterials or the products containing them (nano-enhanced products). Currently, over 1,000 consumer products contain nanomaterials and many others are under development. In addition, nanomaterials are used in processes and in applications to increase efficiency of various systems, aid in environmental remediation, and other applications. However, research to evaluate the overall environemntal impacts of nanomaterials throughout their life cycles is limited (e.g., life cycle inventories, life cycle, assessments, and life cycle impact analyses). This session hopes to identify research in these areas.
