Thin film photovoltaic devices are expected to have significant cost advantages over thick film devices. The primary thin film technologies are based on CdTe, CIGS, dye-sensitized TiO2, and amorphous and polycrystalline Si. Correct choice of materials, and design of architectures, is critical to obtaining high efficience photovoltaic devices.
