Poly-silicon, the feedstock for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries, is in short supply due to the expansion of the photovoltaic industry and recovery of the semiconductor industry. The continuing drive for higher conversion efficiencies and lower cost of poly-silicon production demands a full understanding of the production processes in order to drive the development of new or improved manufacturing processes. This session caters for contributions on recent advances in process development and design for solar-grade poly-silicon production. Papers reporting on all aspects of poly-silicon production technology are welcome, including but not limited to: feedstock materials and crystal growth process, new modeling approaches and advanced measurement techniques, advances in reactor and process design, process control, integration and optimization for the production process and solutions for large scale manufacturing.
