(325a) Data Integration in Pilot Plants for Goal Optimization

Southwest Research Institute has years of experience building, commissioning, and operating pilot and demonstration plants to support the fuels and energy industry.

Testing results at pilot plant scale provide insight for design and operation of larger scale units.  Pilot plant designs vary from single to multiple unit operations.  Specifically, Southwest Research Institute has operated multiple unit operations such as hydrotreaters, distillation columns, and fixed bed and circulating fluidized bed reactors.

The results and data interpretation of pilot plants are vital to optimization of new and existing processes, demonstration, marketing, and economics.  Southwest Research Institute has developed a method to minimize the time required to integrate data across multiple platforms, bringing together analytical and operating data.  In turn, process development goals are quickly achieved and project schedules are shortened.

This presentation will discuss numerous unit operations and how using data integration from multiple sources can optimize process goals in pilot plants.
