Unconventional Technologies for CO2 Capture, Conversion and Utilization II
Tuesday, October 30, 2012 - 3:40pm to 4:05pm
The recent and ongoing development of economical solar and wind energy systems presents a number of new options for carbon management. The purpose of this presentation will be to discuss how engineered solar thermochemical processes might be used to reduce carbon emissions from fossil-fuel powerplants and gas-to-liquids plants and how concentrated solar energy might be used to capture carbon from industrial emissions or the atmosphere for sequestration or use. Perspectives will include economics and Second Law efficiencies. Particular attention will be applied to technologies and strategies that might be applied in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
