Process systems
engineering approach is quite useful in systematic modeling, analysis and
optimization of military systems. In this study, we investigated contributing
factors of each subcomponent of anti-aircraft guns based on first-principles
modeling and data-based study. Then the optimal configurations of anti-aircraft
guns suitable for designated purposes have been produced out of mathematical
programming.

An anti-aircraft gun is
fired from the ground or shipboard in defense against aerial attack.
Antiaircraft weapons development began as early as 1910, when the airplane
first became an effective weapon. There are many
types of anti-aircraft guns, including K-9.

Fire distribution is the
key point in the operational process of integrated anti-aircraft gun and
missile system. Aimed at the economically efficient quality and characteristics
of air-defense missile system and anti-aircraft gun system, the criterion of
optimum fire distribution is established on the basis of analyzing the main
factors, which are killer area and kill probability of the system in fire
distribution (Fan et al., 2004).
