(95a) Accounting, Finance, and Statistics II

This is a tutorial-like presentation of the MBA in a Day session.  Please attend both talks, Accounting, Finance, and Statistics I and II, if you want to learn about all three subjects, which will be divided across the two talks.  All three subjects will not be covered in each of the two talks.

The speaker is Makarand (Raj) Joshi, who is currently Lean Six Sigma Lead for Global Science, Technology, and Commercialization organization at Merck & Co. in New Jersey.  He has extensive experience in R&D and Manufacture of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices and has led entire gamut of activities from Concept Identification through Product Development to Launch and Supply.  Raj has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and started his career in research.  Subsequently he moved to development and then to manufacturing.  Mid way in his career he obtained an MBA degree from Lehigh University.  He is a certified Black Belt and is currently pursuing a Master Black Belt certification.

The session will be of interest to those who want to learn about MBA programs and content: Those who may be considering enrolling in an MBA program, those who want to understand the type of information that is covered in an MBA program, and those who would benefit from having an overview of the content of a typical MBA program, for example. The speakers are subject matter experts who will take into account the interests and background of chemical engineers in the way that they present the information.   The average student who is enrolled in an MBA program has six years of experience and is 29 years old.  Students with engineering or science backgrounds comprise 35 to 40% of MBA programs.  As a consequence, the session will be highly of interest to young professionals.
