Acid gas injection (AGI) is becoming an increasingly popular choice for the disposal of H2S and CO2 sequestration in New Mexico. The reservoir engineering aspect will be covered periphally with the key focus on the process from the top of the amine regenerator column to the bottom of the injection well. As a past Senior Engineer of one such NM AGI well, three basic components of the actual AGI Process Schematic will be presented. These are: compression, pipeline and the injection well. Other basic components as the non-aqueous phase behavior, water content of the acid gas, and the density and viscosity of the gas will be presented from the compression and pipeline considerations at the well site last stage compression to the bottom of the well.
