Thermodynamic behavior of ternary systems has been studied in the last decades. In this work, volumetric properties for the ternary system x1 ethanol + x2 heptane + (1-x1-x2) decane are reported in the range of temperature of (313 to 363) K and pressures up to 20 MPa. The experimental apparatus is based on the static – synthetic method coupled to a commercial vibrating tube densimeter from Anton Paar. Experimental densities are reported within an uncertainty of 0.2 kg·m-3. Deviations between experimental and calculated values agree and are within the experimental uncertainty. Compositions for the ternary system were prepared keeping constant the heptane/decane relation and by varying of ethanol. Density results were correlated using an empirical model with 5 parameters.
