Abstract: Simulation wastewater mixed with Phenol and Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R was treated by Sulfate radical-based advanced oxidation process. The competitioneffects of two kinds of substrate were studied through a series of batch experiments. The experiment results showed thatthe degradation rate of Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R increased with the increase of the ferrous ion and persulfate concentration in the oxidation system only Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R existed. The process of sulfate radical oxidation could be divided into two regions according to the secondary kinetic characteristics. When the phenol was added to solution, the degradation rate of Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R was decrease with increase of phenol concentration; the phenol consumed sulfate radical competed with Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R. The process of oxidation also divided into two regions, and the two parts according to the secondary kinetic characteristics respectively, with reaction rate constant was decrease as increase of phenol concentration.
