(752c) Nano Encapsulation of Active Ingredients



In this work the production of polymeric micelles is studied. Their size and size distributions are measured. Also the stability of the micelles will be measured and discussed. Secondly the polymeric micelles are loaded with an active ingredient. The loading of these polymeric micelles with the active is measured by HPLC methods. Next to this several other techniques will be discussed to elucidate in what state, e.g. crystaline or amorphous, the active is present in the polymeric micel. Also the loaction of the acive in the polymeric micel will be discussed. Techniques like TEM and Cryo TEM are used for this.As a final step, the quantification of the active is carried out to realize the complete characterization of the system. With complete information of the encapsulation system, it is possible to control the and optimize the variables of the system to better tune the nano-system towards the application for which it is developed
