The main objective of this research is to investigate alternative means to eliminate from our environment the so-called “contaminants of emerging concerns,” (CECS). The case study in this instance involves the degradation of Benzotriazole under the influence of pulsed corona discharge in a point-to-point electrode, batch mode and isothermal reactor. With a view to optimizing the process of degradation of the contaminant in our reactor, the ultimate goal is understanding the kinetics of the reactions that occur during this degradation process. Key preliminary results of several important factors affecting the degradation of the contaminant will be reported as well a detailed plan for future studies will be included.
