(293e) Design and Construction of a Fluidized Bed Gasifier

political instability in producing regions, has stimulated the search for alternative and renewable fuels . In the hotbed of alternative energy at the Free University has been deepening in investigating the use of biomass for oil and power generation, highlighting the processes of pyrolysis and gasification . Gasification is an efficient method for the production of hydrocarbons and biomass energy has , which is a renewable resource and not edible , sometimes considered waste .

In Colombia palm oil producers are seeking a solution to what to do or where to deposit the daily waste production? This waste called pericarp or fart , is produced in considerable quantities every day , being used as a base material in internal way the plantations where the palm is grown , due to its high strength and light weight. For mechanical and chemical characteristics will be used as a source of energy and biofuel through fluidized bed gasification, with the process expected significant results that would be achieved vital for energy-environmental development in remote populations in the country where poor electrical wiring and fuel supply, as in the Meta, the Guaviare, the Amazon, the Orinoco, the Pacific Coast, these being the main producers of palm oil, a source of biomass. To achieve this end has experience in biomass thermochemical analysis and supported by expertise in gasification studies.

As these studies were obtained outstanding results through experience in fixed bed gasification. Looking to extend the field of investigation now designing a fluidized bed gasifier model shows how the gasification process , implemented in palm oil producing regions and geographically remote serve as a source of electrical energy, biofuels and in turn reducing waste , thus providing to improve the quality of life of these communities.
