(602g) Structural Analysis of Polysaccharide from Semen Euryales

An water-extractable polysaccharide was isolated from the Semen Euryales.The structure of the polysaccharide was elucidated on the basis of physicochemical and instrumental analyses. Its composition and linkage determination have been investigated using determination of molecular weight, monosaccharide composition analysis, methylation analysis, partial acid hydrolysis, periodate oxidation-smith degradation ,and NMR spectroscopic analysis.This is the first report on the isolation of an water-extractable polysaccharide from this plant.
