Chemical/biological reactions, separation and purification units, and system control/optimization play key roles in any chemical engineering processes. The findings from laboratory- and pilot-scale researches cannot simply be extent to design and operation of full-scale chemical systems. Engineers are facing great challenges because there are numerous new reactions, processes, and products. This session is served as a platform for exchanging fundamental theories, design tools, and operation experience in the scale-up of chemical engineering processes, which would cover such important areas as fundamental chemical industries, fine chemical production, pharmaceutical industry, and environmental engineering industries. This session is multidisciplinary in nature and is expected to attract great interests among academics and engineers who work on design, scale-up, optimization and operation in various chemical processes.
