This session focuses on uses of CO2 to reduce emissions to the atmosphere. The overall objective is to explore the wide range of uses for the CO2 resource and the technologies that can beneficially use it to produce valuable products, including the use of CO2 in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and storage in depleted oil and gas reservoirs. There is particular interest in papers that deal with the differences between EOR for the express purpose of maximizing residual oil production and EOR in conjunction with carbon capture and storage (CCS). Topics of interest will include, but are not limited to the following: - Conversion of CO2 to value added chemicals, fuels, polymers, etc. - Carboxylation/CO2 addition reactions - Use of CO2 in enhanced oil recovery with maximum CO2 storage - Storage of CO2 in depleted oil reservoirs - Activation of the CO2 molecule - Mechanism/kinetics of CO2 reactions - CO2 as an oxidant - Mineralization
