This talk will summarize the achievements that resulted from a collaborative project between AbbVie and UIUC to develop microfluidic tools to identify solid forms of candidate pharmaceuticals, with the notion that microfluidic approaches would enable screening for, and down selection of, suitable solid forms earlier in the drug development process.  Microfluidic platforms will be presented that allow for different crystallization methods (free interface diffusion, evaporation, antisolvent addition) as well as on-chip analysis of the solid forms through Raman Spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.  These platforms were validated through screening for polymorphs, salts and cocrystals of different compounds.
